How to find Damascus on your map

Our philosophy is that a Web should be a friendly place to visit, not a technological challenge. For your convenience, therefore, this site is divided into 12 basic sections. Access to each section can be achieved by means of the navigation bars at the top and bottom of each page or the starter menu immediately below. If, after clicking an icon, you want to return here, simply click the "Back" button on your browser or click "Welcome" on one of the menu bars.
Welcome! This is where you are now.  We would like to suggest that before you visit the other pages you scroll down this page and pay a brief visit to our town. Or just click here.
What's New! This  is the page on which we list all the most recent happenings within our club.  It's a good way to keep up to date if you'll be visiting us often and don't want to have to scroll every page every time you visit.
Contents! The table of contents page lists everything on the site in single-line fashion. There are no descriptions such as you are reading now, just a quick summary.
Our Mission! People ask us sometimes, "What's Rotary all about?"  This page will tell you who we are and how we came to be.
Activities! We do a lot of things to bring the principle of "service above self" to life.  This page will give you a brief overview of our current endeavors.
Our History! We've been around for over forty years.  This page will tell you a little bit about what we've been up to during that time.
Memories! There's a difference between history and memories. Memories are sweet yesterdays that are meant to be savored and treasured.  This page was written by one of our former presidents more than 15 years ago.  It's quite nostalgic and imparts the gracious values of that earlier time.
Members! Whatever its name, any organization is really all about its people. These are the people who make Damascus Rotary tick and enable us to get things done.
Newsletter! Our newsletter is is designed to keep our members abreast of what we've been doing — and the results of our efforts. We'd like to share this news with you, too.
Scrap Book! Happily, our efforts have gotten a lot of recognition in the local press and elsewhere. These are some of the highlights from our hard-copy scrap books.
Search! If you think that there's something on our Web that you're missing, our key-word search engine may help you locate it.
Feedback! We always like to hear from folks who are interested in what we do — or maybe even joining us. Use this page to get in touch, and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.

About Our Town...

Damascus Map Diagram Damascus is located in beautiful upper Montgomery County, strategically yet comfortably situated within the prosperous Baltimore — Washington — Frederick triangle.
We are within one hour's drive of Washington's Reagan- National, Dulles International, or Baltimore/Washington International airports, as well as one hour from Amtrak's Baltimore and Washington stations.
Rural Damascus
Our town is a pleasing, pleasant blend of modern suburban and traditional rural areas, with beautiful farms and an eclectic mix of residential developments. As you approach Damascus from any direction you may well see horses, cows and sheep grazing.
Damascus Flowerbed
Every spring colorfully vibrant azaleas bloom in profusion, aided and abetted by pink and white dogwoods, delicately petaled cherry trees, and chiffon-clad Bradford pear trees.
Damascus Tulip Tulips, phlox and daffodils grace many flowerbeds. In summer the Silver Queen corn grows tall, while on crisp autumn days bright orange pumpkins dot the fields or are stacked high by local farmers' wayside markets.

Local House of Worship The people of Damascus are united by a strong sense of community. This is reflected in the way we keep our homes, our strong support of our public schools, and our long dedication to a full spectrum of religious denominations. Our common goal is to welcome all visitors and newcomers to our town with courtesy and respect.
In such a setting the Rotary Club of Damascus is proud to be a strong Damascus community presence.
