International Exchange News
While we are all enjoying the great GSE team from Norway District 2250, it is time to start planning for next year’s exchange.

DGE Pat Kasuda has managed to set up the first GSE with the new Western Russia District 2220 with the theme of public health. Russia has an urgent need for public health solutions and our district has an unusual concentration of public health institutions, so this should be a uniquely valuable exchange.

Because of this public health focus, we have chosen to accelerate the choosing of a team leader. We want the selected leader to help plan the various exchange activities and to help recruit qualified team members.

Accordingly, we have set the following time table for the 2007 GSE:

Outbound team selection:

  • Team Leader applications due July 15, 2006
  • Team Leader selection July 31, 2006\Team Member applications due November 1, 2006
  • Team Member selection November 15, 2006
  • Begin planning for inbound team November 15, 2006
  • Begin outbound team orientation December 1, 2006
  • Russian GSE team in District 7620 April 13 – May 7, 2007
  • Our GSE team in District 2220 May 25 – June 17, 2007

We are looking for a team leader who understands public health and has connections to that community within our district. As a reminder, the team leader is a Rotarian who will be in charge of our delegation of non-Rotarian young public health professionals while in District 2220.
