The Ride...

Cycle for fun! Pedal with pride! Wind past country farms, horse stables and historic sites with the 2nd Annual Damascus Bike Tour, October 20, 2001, on a 10-mile or 25-mile route.

The tour will be fully catered and supported with high-energy snacks, delicious meals and medical personnel along the way to ensure the safety of participants. In addition, the All American Bicycle Club will provide guided tours for participants. The 10-mile leaves at 10 A.M. and the 25-mile leaves at 9 A.M., so don’t be late!

10-MILE: Ride for Youth
The 10-mile route is designed for the novice rider – no huge hills, and uses off-road cart paths through area parks. This is an enjoyable ride for cyclists of all abilities.

25-MILE: Ride for Health
This is a charming ride for an all-around experience. Passing by country farms and historic sites on rolling hills offers a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.

The Start: Damascus Centre Shopping Area...

Damascus Centre Shopping Area. Directions to the site are easy! From I-70 East or West: exit on Route 27 to Damascus. As you enter Damascus, the shopping center will be on your left. From I-270 East or West: exit on Route 27 to Damascus. Follow Route 27 directly into the shopping center. From Olney: take route 108 to Damascus. As you enter Damascus, the shopping center will be to your right.

More Than a Bike Tour, It's a Rodeo!

For you new riders, State Farm Insurance Company will host a new rider rodeo consisting of several courses and stations focused on different skills needed for safe cycling. Don’t worry if you don’t have a bicycle yet, we have some you can use. So bring your new rider down to our event and let them experience the joy of bicycling – safely!

Don’t Need That Old Bike?

For those that no longer ride or have a bike they no longer need, St. Paul’s Catholic Church, in conjunction with an organization called Pedals for Progress, will be on hand during the event to collect your unwanted bicycles for redistribution to needy individuals in Latin America, Africa and the South Pacific region. Your donation is fully deductible and will go to a worthy cause.
