Rotary's motto of “Service Above Self” doesn’t limit itself to the community alone. Service begins with the Club itself. From kids to shrubs, Rotarians are making a difference.
This avenue’s primary responsibility involves planning and conducting the Club’s weekly meetings, which includes lining up the weekly dinner speakers, greeting Rotarians and guests, and organizing various fellowship activities for the membership. Public Relations — This committee is designed to act as the liaison between the local media and the Club. This committee issues press releases, newspaper articles and a club newsletter. Summer Programs — The Club breaks from the traditional meeting sessions during the summer to a more social experience that includes weekly picnics at various member homes or tours of local business operations. This committee organizes the locations and dates of summer picnics and determines what businesses to visit. Fellowship Dinners — The Club has three primary fellowship dinners during the year to celebrate the Charter of club, the Holidays, and to welcome the new Board of Directors for the upcoming year. This committee organizes the location of the dinners and the programs for the evening. Sunshine — The Club assigns an individual to keep in touch with members and local town business people to ensure the Club is kept informed of their health and status. Speaker Programs — The goal of every Rotarian is to understand and respect every profession. In keeping with this objective, the Club generally invites individuals from various professions to address the club regarding their area of expertise. This committee is responsible for finding and booking those guests. |
