5/6 T-Ball Aberdeen Ironbirds Express Gratitude

Patricia Walker, an Aberdeen Ironbirds mom, writes: "The 5/6 T-Ball Aberdeen Ironbirds had a great season this year [2006]. The kids learned a lot, and we owe a lot of appreciation to the Damascus Rotary Club for providing our shirts and for supporting the league."

Baker Middle School PTA lauds Damascus Rotary Club support

The Baker Middle School PTA thanked the Club profusely for helping fund a visit to the Maryland Shakespeare Festival. "The cultural arts assemblies and workshops conducted over two days provided much needed and enjoyable supplement to the teaching of Shakespeare this year. We had very positive feedback both from teachers and students," the PTA said in its May 19th 2006 letter of appreciation.

The Montgomery Village Rotary Club, along with Friendship with the Arab World, and Rotary Clubs in District #7620, have a Centennial Project in Basra, Iraq in partnership with the highly esteemed non-profit organization, Physicians for Peace.

It is estimated that there are 5,000 amputees in Basra, many of them children who have had the misfortune of finding and playing with mines or who have been injured as a consequence of war.
